Latest Updates from Our Project:

May Update - Prototype books to be printed
almost 7 years ago – Fri, May 19, 2017 at 03:35:25 AM

It has been a little while since the last update. I wanted to let you know what is going on rather than waiting for the surveys to go out.

The last few weeks have been hectic for everyone involved in the company with health concerns to deciding how to provide you with better information on the product line. We have had many questions about the difference between the AS1 Core Rules and the AS3 Blasted Earth Campaign and Sourcebook. I will send out a link to a PDF that covers all our products in detail this week.

A quick summary for you, the game was initially released in 2015 (November 2014) as a Basic Boxed set which contained very light core RPG rules in the AS1-2014 and the Lunar Resort setting in AS1 and AS2. The only way to get AS2 was in the boxed set.

In 2017, we are updating the AS1 core rules by moving the campaign setting information for the Lunar Resort all into AS2-2017 which is becoming a larger book with expanded details for each of the Resorts on Luna. The AS1-2017 is being expanded to contain all the core rules for the 77 Worlds RPG. It will address more detailed rules and a short generic adventure in a Lunar Base. AS1 will not contain any campaign setting information but rather the story of the Lost 77 Worlds, All the basic rules, Weapons, Technology, Mutations, and expansions we have published so far, as well as a general adventure example to run.

What about AS3: The Blasted Earth? Great question, this book as detailed in the Kick starter is our Campaign and Sourcebook for the Ultimate Apocalyptic planet. It adds mutations (which are also included in the AS1-2017 version of the core rules) and details the Blasted Earth environment. This book adds rules for adventuring on the surface of the Post-Apocalyptic Earth, dealing with Mutant Earth life as well as Mutant Alien life. We detail societies or groups, ancient technology, super science devices, biological weapons and Xeno forming agents, random mutations, as well as each of the major environments on the Blasted Earth. These include the Ash/Lava lands, Jungle and forest settings, and desert areas. The jungles run along one side of the great rift blasted into the Earth crust by the aliens while the desert runs along the other side. Very alien encounters exist in all three environments. We include many new encounters in Doom of the Blasted Earth adventure module and in the AS3: Blasted Earth book. You can play the game with just the AS3 book. However, for a more detailed and expansive game system and for adventures beyond the Blasted Earth you should consider picking up the new AS1-2017 core rules book.

What else is going on? Another excellent question. We have created the Encounter Encyclopedia which now contains more than 200 encounters (Monsters, Aliens, Mutant Plants, Mutant Animals, Mutant Aliens, Rogue Robots, and Artificial Intelligences among other things) This will include all the encounters of the game. Many of you will get a printed edition of this work in progress and the plans are to make this an online app where you will have access to expanding encounters month after month.

This week we are printing prototype books and this will give us close estimates of the shipping weight of your boxes. Once we have that data, we will finally be able to send out the surveys. The Survey will tie into a third party system which will allow other who missed the KS to join in and for you to upgrade your backer level if you wish. The best part is it will allow you to add-on any product from our catalog at a discounted price up to the point where you pay shipping.

One last comment for this update. I was asked to include firearm rules. 300 years after the Alien attack, black powder guns can be created by most of the survivors and while modern firearm, well their ammunition, would be rare I am going to include those in the weapons tables as requested. Primitive weapons, advanced weapons, and some super-science weapons are already in the Combat Tools and Equipment tables.

We still have about 2 months where updates can occur, so feel free to send us your suggestions. Items like black powder weapons were developed for a colony world book and such things can be moved into the Blasted Earth book or where such things will cause us to overrun our page count (dictated by the funds we raised) we can offer a booklet for you detailing those items and aspects of the game.

Progress continues expect the survey by May 1
about 7 years ago – Sat, Apr 29, 2017 at 08:21:31 AM

Good Morning,

Work is moving along on the Blasted Earth and editing has started on the 2017 core rulebook as well. We have 8 of the 12 (2017) adventure modules assigned to authors and 5 of those are done. So progress is being made.

I will be sharing a link or PDF to a new FAQ which explains each book content for the source books as well as answering a number of questions that have come up over the last four months. We are also updating our catalog so we can offer you the option of additional addon's at a reduced cost for support our kick starter. Once this is posted later in the week, I will focus on getting the survey out to everyone. The survey is taking a little longer as we have decided to integrate a third party software to conduct the survey and handle shipping cost collection as well as allowing you to do addon's or change your backer level. My goal is still to have the survey out before May 1st.

The Encounter Encyclopedia is a work in progress. It now contains over 200 encounters many of which need more background. We will be updating this PDF throughout the year and you will not only get a copy in your kick starter distribution you will be able to download the latest and greatest version via PDF in December as well.

Content keeps coming in
about 7 years ago – Sat, Apr 29, 2017 at 08:21:17 AM

Happy Thursday!

For those of you who may not have added James M. Wards "Adventure Writing Techniques" or Craig Martelle's Short story. I will be adding those to the survey's so you don't miss out. Craig's short story "The Trenches of Centauri Prime" is a fun read and Jim's adventure writing guide is a wonderful resource.

Today, we add nearly three dozen more encounter to the Encounter Encyclopedia and/or the Blasted Earth book. Also, the Blasted Earth Adventure Series (BEAS2017) has had an upgrade that better ties the adventures together and provides more content as we get into module 4 where the real quest for the last ditch effort to get back into space by the doomed people on Earth.

Something new and it's FREE, Alien's and their Allies has moved up in the production schedule and some form of it will be included with the loot boxes or as a PDF. It will likely be a pre-release version (or sampler) however with the aliens on The Blasted Earth, It may come in handy for some of you.

Lastly, we are planning a second Kickstarter to fund the Jupiter ship Yards source book in August/September. I hope you will join us again.

GaryCon, C&C, and 77 Worlds moving forward
about 7 years ago – Wed, Apr 05, 2017 at 02:21:58 AM

Good Morning!

The Blasted Earth

Funds have been transferred and I am hard at work building our survey which you should get in the next two weeks. Be sure to fill it out as soon as you can and add-on's of any product will ship with your look box and/or book.

GaryCon

It was fantastic to meet many of you for the first time at GaryCon and it finally put faces with people I have known for as long as 20 years! Nick, thank you for introducing yourself to me. I look forward to meeting more of you next year at GaryCon and perhaps at North Texas or GameHole. We are putting together a list of conventions so feel free to suggest a few to us! We had three 77 Worlds games on the formal schedule this year at GC and one traditional after hours late Saturday night game. I plan to have several more Official schedule games next year.

C&C Kickstarter!

Steve wanted me to share his latest Kickstarter Campaign, the C&C Players Handbook. It's live now! If you can share the link or pledging support it be much appreciated. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/676918054/castles-and-crusades-players-handbook-7?ref=user_menu

James M. Ward

James is doing much better and he had it to GaryCon. We are already planning the Alien Starship and flipping coins as to which will be next, Apocalyptic Mars or the Jupiter Ship Yards. Feel free to drop us a line, email, or comment here on what you would like to see. Jim's game of 77 Worlds at the convention was a lot of fun. He really enjoyed running his home town 300 years into an apocalyptic future with Weapons Hunt the first of 12 Blasted Earth modules for 2017. Many of you will get this adventure in your loot boxes.

One of our New Banners

Kurt A Raush

Finally,  Kurt was kind enough to put what looked like MANY MANY hours into game prep for the two fantastic 77 Worlds games he ran at GaryCon. Kurt showed the flexibility and scope of the game rules and character archetypes with two fun adventures down on the Blasted Earth. The landscapes and adventure flow were wonderful. Do yourself a favor and get into one of Kurt's games at a convention you attend. You will love it. Thank you so much for running the games Kurt, I really enjoyed observing the games and had fantastic feedback from many people who played.

Survery and Shipping
about 7 years ago – Fri, Mar 17, 2017 at 08:57:00 AM

We have three hours to go. We are currently 177% funded and are $899 from our third stretch goal. I will be working this week to begin the survey process. Next week I will be at GaryCon and during the week following GaryCon I hope to have all your survey's out to you to confirm your backer level, add-on's, and to select shipping methods.

We expect the "AS3: Earth Prime - The Blasted Earth" to have its art completed by May and the layout and printing should be completed by the end of May. Estimated shipping dates are detailed in the kickstarter project. I will provide updates every other week once we get into May.

When you get the survey, there will be an opportunity to add other add-on products as well as acquire additional copies of AS3. Those in the higher tiers will be contacted for the naming and/or pitching your adventure idea to us. This will need to occur on or before June 10th in order to make it into the book.

Thank you for your support.
